CAIRO (AP) ? A senior official with Egypt's national carrier says the company's pilots have staged a sit-in protest that has delayed several flights.
Egypt Air official Ahmed Shahin says Thursday's protest was designed to press demands for changes in the company's top management and the payment of bonuses proposed by the pilots.
He says 12 flights were delayed for up to three hours.
Egypt has been hit by a wave of street protests and strikes in the two years since a popular uprising toppled Hosni Mubarak. The turmoil has fed growing economic and political woes, often leaving the country struggling to retain a semblance of normalcy.
The opposition plans street protests later this month to demand the ouster of Mohammed Morsi, who after Mubarak's ouster, became Egypt's first freely elected president.
