If you are a regular reader of our network, you are familiar with the Symbiartic blog, where artist Glendon Mellow and illustrator Kalliopi Monoyios explore the relationship and intersection between visual arts and science, nature and medicine.
Today, I am super-happy to introduce a new blogger on our network ? a third co-blogger at Symbiartic, with a focus on cartoons and comic strips. Katie McKissick is the author and illustrator, but is best know for her whimsical cartoons she posts regularly on her blog Beatrice the Biologist, where she explains commonly misunderstood science concepts with words, pictures, and crude jokes. In fact, most of the people who know her only online are more likely to know her as Beatrice the Biologist. You can also follow her on Twitter at @beatricebiology.
It?s anybody?s guess what Beatrice will do here, but it?s guaranteed to be smart, provocative and fun! And with lots of cartoons! You can see a small sampling of her work, and say Hello to her in the comments, at her introductory post: Beatrice on Board. Welcome, Katie!
